Slaughter and May advised First Reserve, the global energy-focused private equity and infrastructure investment firm, in relation to its investment in the construction of a waste-to-energy facility in Dublin, which will be built and operated by Covanta Energy, an international operator of waste-to-energy and power generation projects. The facility will provide the Dublin region with a long term sustainable and environmentally superior waste management solution, while generating clean renewable energy to supply 80,000 homes. The total investment in the facility will be approximately EUR 500 million, of which First Reserve's infrastructure business will provide EUR 75 million by way of convertible preferred investment.
